Saudi hospitals continue to excel on the global stage

The Ministry of Health announced the top ten hospitals in Saudi Arabia that made it onto the “Newsweek” global ranking list for 2025, in collaboration with the specialized data analysis platform “Statista”. This achievement reflects the impact of the health sector transformation program under Saudi Vision 2030. The program aims to enhance the competitiveness of Saudi medical facilities according to the highest global standards, improve healthcare quality, elevate the efficiency of human resources, and adopt the latest medical technologies, solidifying the Kingdom’s position as a leading global medical destination.

The list of the best hospitals in Saudi Arabia for 2025 includes 40 hospitals from various regions of the Kingdom, encompassing both public and growing private sector hospitals. King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh secured the top spot, followed by Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital in Jeddah in second place, and King Abdullah Medical City in Makkah in third place. The list also featured King Saud Medical City in Riyadh in fourth place, Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare in fifth place, King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh (Ministry of National Guard) in sixth place, followed by King Fahd Medical City in Riyadh in seventh place. King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Jeddah ranked eighth, King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah (Ministry of National Guard) in ninth place, and the International Medical Center in Jeddah rounded out the top ten. These results mark a significant improvement compared to last year, with the number of Saudi hospitals on the list increasing from 34 to 40.

In light of this achievement, the Minister of Health, Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel, stated, “I am pleased to see more Saudi hospitals occupying prestigious positions in the ranking of the world’s best hospitals for this year issued by ‘Newsweek’. This achievement enhances the Kingdom’s position as a global destination for high-quality healthcare and reflects the significant progress witnessed in the healthcare sector in the Kingdom.” This accomplishment reflects the qualitative leap taking place in the Saudi healthcare sector and the ongoing efforts of the healthcare system to enhance the quality of medical care according to the highest global standards. This is the result of continuous investment in hospital development, improving the efficiency of medical staff, and adopting the latest technologies to enhance patient experience and improve healthcare services.

It is worth mentioning that the ranking was based on the opinions of over 85,000 global medical experts, along with patient satisfaction data, healthcare quality indicators, and evaluation of Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs).
