The General Directorate of Civil Defense has issued a warning about the increasing possibility of risks and accidents in household kitchens, including incidents resulting from the use of gas stoves and electrical fires due to improper distribution of loads or the use of non-compliant connections. It stresses the importance of taking care of the electrical and gas installations, following civil defense guidelines to avoid such risks, and providing smoke detectors, handheld fire extinguishers, and gas leak detectors in all household kitchens. The public is also urged to follow safety guidelines and instructions announced through various media outlets and social media platforms, as well as to contact the emergency numbers “911” in Riyadh, Mecca, and the Eastern Region, and “998” in other regions of the Kingdom for assistance in emergency situations.
