Crown Prince of Riyadh Honors Winners of King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Quran Memorization Competition on Behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

Under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Riyadh, attended an event to honor the winners of the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Award for memorizing, reciting, and interpreting the Quran for boys. The event, in its twenty-sixth edition, was organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Riyadh. Upon arrival, Prince Faisal was welcomed by the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Abdulatif Al-Sheikh, and the Minister of Education, Yusuf Al-Benyan.
In his speech, Prince Faisal expressed pride in the award named after King Salman for its significance in supporting young Quran memorizers and instilling them with the correct teachings. He congratulated the winners and encouraged them to continue serving the Quran and the country in line with the directives of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The event began with Quranic recitation followed by a speech by the Minister of Islamic Affairs highlighting the prestigious nature of the competition and the continuous support it receives from King Salman since its establishment in 1419 AH. He emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to promoting the Quran, its sciences, values, and principles to encourage competition among the youth in memorization and mastery of the Quran.
The minister praised King Salman for his unwavering support of the competition over the past 26 years, with total prize money reaching seven million riyals, demonstrating the Kingdom’s dedication to Quran memorization and motivating the younger generation to engage with it. He also thanked Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for his support and oversight of Quranic competitions, both locally and internationally, which have garnered global acclaim for Saudi Arabia’s leadership in serving the Quran and promoting moderate teachings derived from the Quran and the Prophet’s Sunnah.
During the event, Prince Faisal and attendees listened to recitations by the participants and watched a visual presentation detailing information and statistics about the current edition of the competition. At the conclusion, Prince Faisal honored the judging committee members and the winners in the six categories with cash prizes exceeding seven million riyals along with a certificate of excellence. He also received a commemorative gift and took photos with the competition winners.
Overall, the event underscored the Kingdom’s commitment to promoting Quranic memorization, recitation, and interpretation among the youth, with ongoing support from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
