149 Facilities in Riyadh, Eastern Region, and Mecca Inspected by Real Estate Authority in 10 Rounds of Oversight During February 2025

In collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the General Authority for Real Estate conducted 10 joint inspection tours in February. These tours covered 149 real estate establishments in Riyadh, the Eastern Province, and Mecca with the aim of ensuring compliance with real estate laws, particularly in terms of real estate brokerage regulations, and related to the localization initiatives.
The Authority emphasized that fieldwork is crucial for regulating the real estate market. During the same period, their inspection teams carried out 2019 field inspections, resulting in the identification of 20,342 real estate violations in public places. Additionally, the Authority received 584 real estate complaints through various channels, all of which were promptly addressed. Moreover, over 6,790 electronic survey operations were conducted, as part of the Authority’s electronic monitoring system targeting digital channels and real estate platforms to verify the legality of advertisements and digital real estate brokerage practices according to regulations.
The General Authority for Real Estate urged brokers and all real estate service providers to adhere to real estate regulations and familiarize themselves with violations to avoid penalties, including warnings, suspension or cancellation of licenses, and financial penalties. The executive regulations of the system classify violations and their corresponding penalties. The Authority also encouraged citizens and residents to report any suspected real estate violations or fraud through the official platform or by calling the real estate inquiry number “199011”.
Overall, the joint inspection tours conducted by the General Authority for Real Estate, in cooperation with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, exemplify a proactive approach to ensuring compliance with real estate laws and regulations. Through fieldwork and electronic monitoring, the Authority aims to regulate the real estate market and crack down on violations, with a focus on real estate advertisements and digital brokerage practices.
The Authority’s commitment to enforcement is evident in the significant number of violations identified during the inspection tours, including over 20,000 real estate violations in public areas. Additionally, the handling of 584 real estate complaints further demonstrates the Authority’s responsiveness to addressing issues raised by the public.
By emphasizing the importance of compliance with real estate regulations and the consequences of non-compliance, the General Authority for Real Estate aims to create a more transparent and accountable real estate market. With clear guidelines on penalties and a system in place for reporting violations, the Authority seeks to encourage both real estate professionals and the public to contribute to a fair and ethical real estate industry.
In conclusion, the efforts of the General Authority for Real Estate, in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, reflect a commitment to upholding real estate laws and regulations through rigorous enforcement and proactive measures. By promoting compliance, addressing violations, and encouraging public participation in reporting issues, the Authority plays a vital role in ensuring a well-regulated and ethical real estate market in Saudi Arabia.
