Special arrangements and facilities for disabled and elderly visitors at the Grand Mosque during Ramadan

The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has provided equipped prayer areas with the latest facilities and services for guests of the Grand Mosque in Mecca during the holy month of Ramadan. They have supplied them with copies of the Quran and blessed Zamzam water. Specific prayer areas have been allocated for men with disabilities on the first floor near Gate 91, the first floor near the Shubeikah Bridge at Gate 68, the prayer area at the southern plaza known as “Ajyad Bridge,” the prayer area at the western plaza known as “Shubeikah,” and two prayer areas in the third Saudi expansion at Gate 123 and the eastern plaza. For women, prayer areas have been designated on the ground floor at Gate 88, the first floor at Gate 65 near Shubeikah, prayer area 15 overlooking the circumambulation area, the prayer area at the southern plaza known as “Ajyad Bridge,” and the prayer areas in the western and eastern plazas. The Presidency has also taken measures to facilitate the movement of vehicles by providing ramps and placing directional signs and designated paths with clear guidance to make navigation easier. They have set up pathways and guide markers indicating the locations for services catering to people with disabilities and the elderly, and they have made available free manual and electric carts for their assistance.
