Attempt to smuggle 1.364.706 Captagon pills hidden in air conditioning units foiled at Al Batha border crossing.

The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority at the Batha border point foiled an attempt to smuggle 1,364,706 Captagon pills hidden in a shipment entering the Kingdom. The authority received a shipment labeled as “air conditioning devices” through the Batha border point. Upon undergoing customs procedures and inspection using security technologies and live means, the pills were discovered concealed within the shipment.

The authority reiterated its commitment to strengthening customs control on the Kingdom’s imports and exports, standing guard against smuggling attempts. This is in line with its strategy of enhancing community security and protection by reducing smuggling attempts. The authority urged everyone to contribute to combating smuggling to protect the community and national economy by contacting them through the designated security hotline “1910,” the email “1910@zatca.gov.sa,” or the international number “009661910.” Through these channels, the authority receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Unified Customs Law in complete confidentiality, with a financial reward offered to the informant if the information provided is accurate.
