Saudi Arabia and Ukraine issued a joint statement at the end of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s official visit to the Kingdom, emphasizing the strength of the economic ties between the two countries and the importance of working together to enhance their trade exchange. They welcomed the re-establishment of the Saudi-Ukrainian Joint Business Council in 2025.
Both parties affirmed their commitment to boosting investment relations by establishing promising investment partnerships in priority sectors for both countries. The statement highlighted the exceptional relationship and close cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Ukraine.
During President Zelensky’s visit to the Kingdom, he was received by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who also serves as the Prime Minister. They held official talks at the Peace Palace in Jeddah, discussing various aspects of the bilateral friendship and expressing their desire to enhance it across all fields.
President Zelensky congratulated Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Riyadh’s successful bid to host Expo 2030 and Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the 2034 FIFA World Cup. Both sides praised the robust economic ties between the two friendly nations, noting a 9% growth in trade exchange in 2024 and agreeing on the need to overcome challenges hindering further commercial development.
They emphasized the importance of intensifying official visits, mutual trade and investment delegations, encouraging joint projects, exploring opportunities under Saudi Vision 2030, and discussing Ukraine’s reconstruction programs. The joint statement welcomed the re-establishment of the Saudi-Ukrainian Joint Business Council in 2025.
