Saudi Space Agency and Korean counterpart sign memorandum of understanding to enhance bilateral cooperation

The Saudi Space Agency signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korean Aerospace and Aviation Administration (KASA) to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the space sector. The signing took place at the agency’s headquarters in Riyadh, attended by the CEO of the Saudi Space Agency, Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Al-Tamimi, and the Director of KASA, Dr. Yun Young-Bin, along with other officials from both sides.

The memorandum aims to support and enhance the strategic partnership between the two entities by establishing a framework for cooperative activities in various space areas. These include deep space technologies, manned spaceflight programs, satellite launches and payloads, capacity building in space science and engineering, and the exchange of knowledge and experience in advanced space applications.

The agreement is designed to facilitate the exchange of information and technologies, contribute to building national capabilities, enhance research and technological development in the vital space sector. It will also create an attractive investment environment in the space sector, supporting the development of the space economy and elevating the status of both countries on the international stage.

Dr. Al-Tamimi emphasized the importance of global partnerships as a cornerstone for advancing space technologies, and fostering the development of the space economy. The Saudi Space Agency recognizes the significance of international cooperation in achieving progress in space technologies.
