King Salman Center for Relief delivers 135 hearing aids to hearing-impaired individuals in Lahj Governorate

The King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid has delivered 135 hearing aids to individuals with hearing impairments in Lahij province, Yemen, in conjunction with World Hearing Day. This falls under the second phase of a project aimed at enhancing the local capacity development needs for educating illiterate students and individuals with disabilities in Yemen.
Dr. Saleh Mahmoud, the Deputy Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, praised the Kingdom’s humanitarian efforts through the King Salman Center for Relief in Yemen. He commended the sustainable projects that address the needs of individuals with disabilities. Beneficiaries expressed their happiness and gratitude for the generous support provided by the center to help their children receive education and lead dignified lives. The project aims to strengthen the institutional capacities of government centers and schools working in the fields of protecting, caring for, and rehabilitating people with disabilities, as well as literacy schools. This will be achieved by improving the educational infrastructure to enhance participation opportunities in supporting the outcomes of the disability education system and literacy students in the provinces of Aden, Lahij, Abyan, Shabwah, Hadramout, and Al-Mahra, benefiting 8,975 individuals at a cost of 5,625,000 Saudi Riyals.
These initiatives are part of Saudi Arabia’s projects implemented through the King Salman Center for Relief to address key challenges faced by educational institutions in caring for children with disabilities and illiteracy, which hinder their integration into Yemeni society.
