Transport Minister Launches Saudi Ground Services Company’s First Digital Employee

His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, inaugurated the first “digital employee” at the Saudi Ground Services Company (SGS). The event was attended by His Excellency the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Mr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duaij, and Mr. Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Mazi, the CEO of SGS.

This initiative is part of the company’s digital transformation and automation strategy, aiming to leverage modern technologies and artificial intelligence to enhance operations and positively impact facilities. The “digital employee” was issued the company’s first official business card.

The digital employee’s tasks revolve around automating routine tasks, such as attendance management, instant report generation, and data analysis. This automation saves over 10,000 hours annually, ensuring accuracy, real-time team readiness according to operational requirements, and boosting productivity while enhancing services for airlines and passengers by focusing on strategic tasks instead of repetitive manual work.

Engineer Saleh Al-Jasser praised the automated services and the integration of the latest digital transformation technologies in Saudi airports to accelerate operations, improve passenger experience, and enhance service levels, leveraging modern technologies to develop performance and save time effectively.

Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Mazi, the CEO of SGS, expressed gratitude to the Minister of Transport and Logistics for supporting the inauguration of the first “digital employee,” showcasing the company’s commitment to using modern technologies to elevate performance and services.

The visit by Engineer Al-Jasser falls within the ministry’s oversight role for all transportation and logistics sectors, monitoring programs, initiatives, and projects that facilitate mobility options to enhance transportation in cities and provinces across the Kingdom. Embracing modern technologies aims to improve quality of life, increase work efficiency, and achieve the national transportation and logistics strategy targets to establish the Kingdom as a global logistics hub.
