The General Authority of Zakat, Tax, and Customs revealed that there have been 1228 cases of confiscating prohibited items in all forms at the customs ports in the Kingdom, including land, sea, and air entries. This is part of the continuous efforts made by the authority to enhance security and protect the society from various types of prohibited items. The confiscated items included 61 types of drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, heroin, and amphetamines, as well as 1095 banned substances, 1584 types of tobacco and its derivatives, and 54 types of monetary amounts.

The General Authority of Zakat, Tax, and Customs emphasized its commitment to tightening customs control on the Kingdom’s imports and exports in order to ensure the security and protection of the society. This is achieved through continuous cooperation and coordination with all relevant entities. The authority also called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling in order to protect the society and the national economy. They can do so by contacting the authority via the designated security hotline number “1910”, or through the email address “1910@zatca.gov.sa”, or the international number “009661910”. Through these channels, the authority receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Unified Customs Law in complete confidentiality, while also providing a financial reward to the informant if the information in the report is verified.
