Transportation Ministry confiscates 25 foreign trucks violating regulations in Saudi Arabia, imposes 10,000 SAR fine on each
The General Authority of Transport in the Kingdom is conducting intensive monitoring campaigns on foreign trucks to ensure compliance with the regulations of land transportation. The monitoring teams have confiscated 25 foreign trucks engaged in transporting goods within cities, imposing a fine of 10,000 riyals on each violating truck along with confiscation.
In Riyadh, 86 inspection operations were carried out, resulting in 24 violations and the confiscation of the offending trucks. Similar operations were conducted in Jeddah, leading to 8 inspections, one violation, and the confiscation of a truck. The Authority emphasized its commitment to enforce the regulations by imposing a fine of 10,000 riyals and confiscating the violating truck for 15 days on the first offense. Penalties will be doubled for repeat violations, with fines reaching 20,000 riyals on the second offense and increasing with each subsequent violation.
The Authority continues its intensive field campaigns across various regions of the Kingdom to enhance control and regulation in the transportation sector, ensuring fair competition and supporting national carriers. These efforts are part of the commitment to effectively implement regulations, thereby improving the efficiency of the logistics sector and achieving the goals of the national strategy for transport and logistics services to enhance competitiveness both domestically and internationally.
