New Shipping Service Added to Jeddah Islamic Port

The General Authority of Ports (MAWANI) has announced the addition of a new shipping service, JPS, operated by CULINES, to the Islamic Port of Jeddah. This move aims to enhance maritime connections between the Kingdom and the world, and support national exports and imports. MAWANI’s focus on strengthening its strategic partnerships with major regional and international shipping lines is in line with the national transportation and logistics strategy. The goal is to establish Saudi Arabia as a global logistics hub and a pivotal point connecting the three continents.

The new JPS shipping service will link the Islamic Port of Jeddah with the Port of Port Sudan, with a capacity of 450 standard containers. The Islamic Port of Jeddah boasts 62 multi-purpose berths, a logistics services area for storage and re-export, a direct truck transport system to and from the port, as well as several specialized stations and advanced facilities. These include two container handling stations with a capacity of 7.5 million standard containers, two general cargo stations, two ship repair and marine parts maintenance basins, a range of quays for maritime services such as berthing and maritime guidance, with a total capacity of 130 million tons.
