Transport Ministry Conducts Over 54,000 Inspections on Transportation Activities

The General Authority of Transport continues its supervisory tasks during the holy month of Ramadan in cooperation with several relevant government entities to ensure the quality of transportation services for worshipers and pilgrims in Mecca and Medina. From the 16th to the 22nd of the holy month, monitoring teams carried out over 54,000 field inspections in both cities, identifying 13,000 violations. These efforts are part of intensive campaigns to ensure compliance with regulations governing various transportation activities, including license verification, vehicle technical inspection, and crackdown on illegal transportation activities.
In Mecca, monitoring teams conducted 43,000 field inspections, uncovering 11,000 violations related to operating unlicensed vehicles, failure to adhere to official attire, employing non-certified drivers, as well as violations concerning vehicle equipment and safety requirements, with a compliance rate of 90%.
In Medina, 11,000 inspections were carried out, leading to the identification of 2,000 violations related to operating unlicensed vehicles, lack of approved technical equipment on cars, and employing drivers without the necessary licenses.
