Saudi King Directs Naming of Streets in Riyadh after Imams and Monarchs Following Crown Prince’s Recommendation

In a commemoration of the memory of the leaders and kings of Saudi Arabia, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has instructed, based on the recommendation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to name 15 squares in Riyadh after the leaders and kings of the kingdom. This initiative coincides with Saudi Arabia’s celebration of its National Day on February 22nd each year.

This royal directive reflects the King’s and Crown Prince’s commitment to preserving the great legacy of the leaders and kings who played a significant role in establishing, unifying, and developing the kingdom over the past 300 years. They have also worked to enhance the nation’s accomplishments, protect its resources, maintain its security, and elevate the well-being of its people.

The 15 squares are strategically located along the main roads in the capital city of Riyadh. The names chosen for these squares include: Imam Mohammed bin Saud Square, Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Square, Imam Saud bin Abdulaziz Square, Imam Abdullah bin Saud Square, Imam Turki bin Abdullah Square, Imam Faisal bin Turki Square, Imam Abdullah bin Faisal Square, Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal Square, King Abdulaziz Square, King Saud Square, King Faisal Square, King Khalid Square, King Fahd Square, King Abdullah Square, and King Salman Square.

This initiative not only honors the leaders and kings of Saudi Arabia but also serves as a reminder of their enduring contributions to the nation’s progress and prosperity. By naming these squares after them, their legacies will continue to inspire future generations and remind the people of Saudi Arabia of their rich history and heritage.
