The General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises “Monshaat” report revealed an increase of 67% in the number of commercial registrations in the fourth quarter of 2024, reaching 1.6 million records. The majority of these registrations were located in Riyadh at 39%, followed by Makkah at 17%, the Eastern Region at 16%, Qassim at 6%, and Asir at 5%. The remaining commercial registrations were distributed across other regions at 17%.
The current version of the report focuses on sustainability and highlights the trends adopted by small and medium enterprises, such as circular economy, renewable energy, reforestation, major environmental projects, eco-tourism development, and the adoption of electric cars. Additionally, the report emphasizes collaboration with government initiatives and contribution to sustainability reports.
The report sheds light on experts’ insights and success stories in the field of sustainability, including interviews with officials from various companies, as well as other experts and specialists in entrepreneurship. It also mentioned the beneficiaries by the end of the fourth quarter of 2024, with over 51,000 benefiting from the Monshaat Academy programs, 41,076 from small and medium enterprises at support centers under the authority, and approximately 6,100 beneficiaries from the Mazaya platform. Moreover, 2,100 small and medium enterprises qualified for the worthy service, 4,258 beneficiaries from innovation centers, and 205 trademarks were listed on the Monshaat Commercial Excellence Platform.
