Electric and manual carts introduced in the Grand Mosque to facilitate pilgrims’ transportation during Ramadan

During the holy month of Ramadan, the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has increased the number of electric “golf” carts to 400, all unified with a visual identity that reflects the unique character of the Grand Mosque.

In addition to this, the organization has introduced hand-carts with special designs to meet the needs of pilgrims during the season, providing convenient transportation options to facilitate the performance of rituals with ease. The General Presidency has made several types of carts available inside the Grand Mosque, including free hand-carts located in the eastern courtyard (Gate of Peace No. 19) and the western courtyard (Shubaikah Bridge Gate 64), as well as paid hand-carts located in the ground level of the Sa’i area (Gate 14) and the first floor of the Sa’i area near the number staircase (Gate 16), alongside the western courtyard (Shubaikah Bridge Gate 64) and the southern courtyard (near restroom number 2). Additionally, electric “golf” carts are available for reservation through designated points in courtyards, located in the western courtyard (Shubaikah Bridge Gate 64), Ajyad Bridge (Gate 4), and the first floor of Ajyad staircase (Gate 4).

These carts provide comfort for the elderly, people with disabilities, and pilgrims who may have difficulty walking inside the Grand Mosque. They also help in organizing visitor traffic, reducing congestion, especially during the busy Ramadan season which witnesses a high density of worshippers and pilgrims. Furthermore, the electric “golf” carts service is provided for free to people with disabilities.
