22,000 Dialysis Sessions Conducted at Al Ghaydah Kidney Center to Alleviate Patients’ Suffering

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been contributing to the development and improvement of the healthcare sector in Yemen through various developmental projects and initiatives. These efforts highlight the significant contributions made towards achieving sustainable development, enhancing the quality of life for Yemeni citizens, and elevating the level of healthcare provided to them.

One of the specialized medical centers established by the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction in Yemen is the kidney dialysis center at Al Ghaydah Hospital in Al Mahra Governorate. This center has been fully equipped to serve kidney patients in the governorate and its surrounding areas, aiming to reduce the burden of travel on patients seeking treatment outside the governorate.

The center, operated by qualified medical staff, has conducted over 22,000 dialysis sessions, alleviating the suffering of patients and helping them regain their normal lifestyle. The effective contributions of the center in providing healthcare services efficiently, facilitating access, and improving quality have been instrumental in supporting the well-being of the community.

With over 97,000 specialized medical services provided to kidney failure patients, including dialysis sessions, examinations, medical consultations, and tests, the center also offers community services such as medical awareness programs on kidney diseases and prevention methods.

The establishment and equipping of the kidney dialysis center, which houses more than 80 medical devices and equipment to aid medical staff in their tasks, exemplify the integration of Saudi developmental and humanitarian support. Built and equipped through the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction in Yemen, the center is operated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.

It is worth noting that the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction in Yemen has implemented dozens of developmental projects and initiatives to support the healthcare sector in Yemen. These projects include the construction and equipping of hospitals and health centers, as well as capacity building for medical staff. In total, 264 projects and initiatives have been carried out in eight essential sectors, including education, health, transportation, energy, water, agriculture, fisheries, and developmental programs to enhance and support government capabilities.
