King Salman Center for Relief Implements 1,072 Projects to Empower Women in 79 Countries Worldwide

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has shown great interest in supporting women in the most needy countries around the world through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center. The center has implemented 1,072 projects dedicated to women in 79 countries, with a total value exceeding $723,989 million. These projects aim to provide assistance to women and empower them economically, recognizing their vital role in shaping communities and preparing future generations.
The center’s projects for women include providing assistance to Yemeni women and empowering them economically. This is achieved through training programs in vocational and commercial fields, as well as providing necessary tools to help them generate income and improve livelihoods for themselves and their families. Additionally, the center focuses on offering protection services to women and girls affected by gender-based violence by enhancing the capacity of governmental and non-governmental organizations to manage cases of such violence, raising awareness of women’s rights through media campaigns, and providing psychological and legal support.
To alleviate the suffering of low-income female patients, the center has carried out voluntary medical projects to perform surgical operations in obstetrics and gynecology in several countries such as Yemen, El Salvador, Mauritania, Gambia, and Cameroon. Other projects aim to address acute malnutrition among children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers by providing treatment and healthcare in needy countries.
Since its establishment, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has implemented 3,361 projects in various vital sectors across 106 countries worldwide, with a total value exceeding $7 billion. These projects have benefited millions of vulnerable individuals in targeted countries without discrimination. Today, the center celebrates International Women’s Day on March 8 each year to honor women’s contributions to community-building and their essential role as key partners in sustainable development.
