Ministry of Commerce Reveals Citizen and Resident Involved in Cover-up Crime in Decorations and Exhibition Furnishings

The Ministry of Commerce has exposed a Saudi citizen and a Syrian resident who were convicted of the crime of concealing activities in the field of decorations and preparing exhibitions in Riyadh. The Saudi citizen was found to be involved in concealing the Syrian resident by allowing him to conduct business without obtaining a foreign investment license, enabling him to work for his personal gain, collect illegal activity revenues, transfer funds out of the kingdom, and having a contract and signed payment vouchers in his possession, as well as bank account cards belonging to the establishment. This confirms his absolute control over the establishment and his actions as the owner.

The Ministry publicized the court ruling from the Riyadh Criminal Court, which included public defamation, imposing a financial penalty, canceling the commercial registration, revoking the license, liquidating the activities, paying zakat, fees, and taxes, prohibiting the individual from engaging in commercial activities at the violation site, deporting the individual from the kingdom, and banning their return to work. It is worth mentioning that the anti-concealment law stipulates penalties of up to five years in prison, a fine of up to five million riyals, and the confiscation of illegal funds after final court judgments against the culprits.
