Yemen Reconstruction Program Boosts Livelihoods in Yemeni Provinces

Saudi Program for Yemen’s Development and Reconstruction initiatives support livelihoods, rural resilience, human capital investment, and economic empowerment of women, youth, and communities in Yemen. These projects aim to enhance the capacities of local communities in various fields through training, consultation, and qualification support in vital sectors.
One project introduced by the Saudi program in collaboration with the Small and Micro Enterprises Development Agency in Yemen is Livelihoods Support, which helps distressed groups through innovative methods to restore rural livelihoods and bolster local communities’ resilience. This project contributes to the food security sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, and animal wealth, which are crucial due to their sensitivity to environmental and economic shocks. It seeks to provide sustainable income sources and enhance local production to create new avenues for development in Yemen.
The Livelihood Support project is expected to provide over 13,000 job opportunities for beneficiaries, focusing on capacity building and energy investment to improve daily life and build a promising future. These developmental programs are part of 264 projects and initiatives offered by the Saudi Program for Yemen’s Development and Reconstruction in eight essential sectors: education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture, fisheries, government capacity development, and developmental programs across various Yemeni provinces.
