Ministry of Interior plays key role in foiling smuggling of 7 million amphetamine pills in Iraq.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior spokesperson, Colonel Talal bin Abdulmohsen Al-Shalhoub, announced that preemptive security monitoring of criminal networks engaged in drug trafficking activities led to the interception of an attempt to smuggle 7,000,000 amphetamine pills hidden in a shipment of children’s toys and clothing ironing tables by the Iraqi Interior Ministry. The Saudi Ministry of Interior provided information through the General Directorate for Drug Control to its Iraqi counterpart, resulting in the seizure of the drugs.
Colonel Talal praised the positive cooperation with the Iraqi authorities in monitoring and confiscating drugs, emphasizing that the Kingdom remains vigilant in tracking and combating criminal activities related to drug production and trafficking, in collaboration with neighboring and friendly countries.
