Foreign Trucks Seized and Fined 10,000 Riyals in Recent Bust

The General Authority of Transport in Saudi Arabia seized 3 foreign trucks for practicing cargo transportation within the kingdom with the support of security authorities, imposing a fine of 10,000 Saudi riyals on them. This action was taken in line with the land transportation system to ensure organized and safe transport environment that supports economic growth, enhances supply chain efficiency, and boosts the logistics sector’s competitiveness.
The authority emphasized its commitment to enforcing regulatory measures against violators by imposing fines of 10,000 riyals, seizing the offending truck for 15 days for the first offense. Penalties will double for repeat offenses, reaching a fine of 20,000 riyals with a 30-day truck seizure for the second offense. For the third offense, the fine will be 40,000 riyals with a 60-day truck seizure, increasing to 80,000 riyals and a 60-day truck seizure for the fourth offense. In case of a fifth offense, a fine of 160,000 riyals will be imposed along with a 60-day truck seizure. The penalties also include confiscation of violating trucks, especially those repeatedly violating regulations and failing to comply with the laws.
The General Authority of Transport reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying field monitoring operations and taking action against violators to prevent exploitation of regulations, curb any misconduct that could compromise fair competition, road safety, and logistics sector efficiency. The authority also highlighted its adherence to the highest standards of governance and transparency to enhance the transport environment, support local transport providers, and elevate the quality of logistics services in line with the national transport and logistics services strategic goals to advance this vital sector.
