King Salman Center for Relief Signs Agreement to Rehabilitate Earthquake-Damaged Homes in Aleppo

The King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid signed a cooperation agreement with a civil society institution to implement the third phase of rehabilitating homes and providing shelter for families affected by the earthquake in the Azaz area of Aleppo Governorate in Syria. The agreement was signed by the Assistant Director General for Operations and Programs, Engineer Ahmed bin Ali Al-Bayez. This agreement aims to rehabilitate 715 homes for families whose houses were slightly or moderately damaged by the earthquake, as well as to provide 55 temporary housing units for families who are most severely affected and have become homeless. The project will also provide basic necessities such as electricity through solar panels, installation of modern water tanks, and proper ventilation to the rehabilitated homes and temporary housing units, benefiting a total of 4,587 individuals.

It is worth mentioning that this project is a continuation of the previous phases, where in the first and second phases, 1,203 damaged homes were rehabilitated with minor to moderate damage, and 39 prefabricated temporary housing units equipped with basic necessities were provided for families whose homes were severely damaged and became homeless, benefiting a total of 10,000 individuals directly. This effort is part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing assistance through the King Salman Center for Relief to help earthquake victims in Syria and provide for their basic needs.
