The fifth edition of the national charity campaign organized by the National Platform for Charity Work “Ehsan” has seen an overwhelming response from leaders and donors of all ages during the holy month of Ramadan. The generous contributions surpassed one billion riyals and were directed towards various developmental areas, benefiting recipients in more than 25 charitable and developmental fields across the Kingdom.
The charitable donations aimed to support beneficiaries in the fields of health, with contributions securing over 400 dialysis sessions, 270 surgeries, support for 1,790 patients, and the provision of 480 medical devices. In the food sector, donors provided more than 1.5 million meals for iftar and suhoor, over 14 million water bottles, 59,000 meals, and 230 food baskets.
Social support extended to more than 4,800 families, in addition to sponsorship for 3,600 orphans, 1,690 widows, and divorced women, as well as the provision of 6,360 clothing items. In the housing sector, rent payments for 1,120 families were covered, 1,000 homes were furnished, and 285 houses were renovated. In the religious field, over 1,900 Umrah pilgrims were sponsored, along with the renovation and maintenance of 30 mosques, and the construction of three new mosques.
In the education sector, 4,110 students received various forms of educational support through sponsorship programs, along with the provision of 118 educational devices and contributions to training and rehabilitation programs aimed at empowering beneficiaries and enhancing their educational and professional opportunities. Additionally, over 1,730 financially burdened individuals benefited from “Ease”, 750 beneficiaries from “Relief”, and support for 3,050 beneficiaries from “Electricity Relief”.
These numbers highlight the level of community solidarity in the Kingdom, with individuals and entities coming together during the blessed month of Ramadan to give in charity and kindness, seizing the opportunity to draw closer to their Creator through acts of generosity and good deeds in these auspicious days.
