The Ministry of Tourism has increased its efforts to monitor tourism activity offices, including tour operators, travel agencies, and tourism offices. Working in collaboration with various security and government entities, around 300 monitoring visits were conducted in various cities and regions across the Kingdom, leading to the detection of approximately 150 non-compliant tourism offices offering unauthorized services.
These efforts are part of the ministry’s ongoing endeavor to regulate the tourism sector and ensure compliance of tourism service providers with tourism regulations and executive regulations, especially regarding obtaining the necessary licenses to guarantee the quality of services provided and protect the rights of beneficiaries.
The monitoring tours included areas such as Riyadh, Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah, Al-Baha, Jazan, and Al-Ahsa, with the participation of several relevant government entities, including the Ministry of Interior represented by the General Security, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services, the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, and the General Authority of Transport. Penalties will be imposed on violators in accordance with the applicable regulations.
The ministry emphasized the importance of tourism activity offices complying with obtaining the necessary licenses from the Ministry of Tourism as stipulated by the tourism system and its executive regulations to ensure the provision of high-quality services for tourists and visitors and keep pace with the rapid developments in the tourism sector in the Kingdom.
Through the “Our Guests are a Priority” campaign, the Ministry of Tourism is working to enhance the commitment of all employees in tourism activities to licensing and classification standards, especially regarding obtaining the ministry’s licenses and adhering to regulatory requirements.
All beneficiaries of tourism services were urged to provide their feedback and inquiries regarding the quality of services by contacting the Unified Tourism Center on the number “930.”
