Civil Aviation Releases Report on Airports and National Carriers’ Compliance with Flight Timings
The General Authority of Civil Aviation has released its monthly report on the punctuality of airports and national carriers for the month of February 2025. The report assesses the departure and arrival times of flights within a window of less than 15 minutes from the scheduled time. This allows passengers to have a clear view of the level of commitment of airlines and airports to flight schedules, with the goal of improving services provided to passengers, enhancing their experience, and raising standards.
The February 2025 report highlighted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jizan, NEOM Bay Airport, and Sharurah Airport as leading in the rankings. The airports were divided into 5 categories based on passenger numbers annually, with King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh topping the list in the category of international airports with more than 15 million passengers annually, achieving an 86% punctuality rate. In the second category of international airports with passenger numbers ranging from 5 to 15 million annually, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam ranked first with an 85% punctuality rate. In the third category of international airports with passenger numbers ranging from 2 to 5 million annually, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jizan achieved first place with a 92% punctuality rate. NEOM Bay International Airport topped the list in the fourth category of international airports with less than two million passengers annually, achieving a 93% punctuality rate. Sharurah Airport claimed the top spot in the fifth category of domestic airports with a perfect 100% punctuality rate.
