Saudi Arabia’s Sponsorship and Support Concludes 33rd Edition of Tanzania International Quran Competition

The 33rd edition of the Tanzania International Quran Competition, sponsored by the Kingdom represented by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, concluded today. The event was organized by the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, represented by the Charitable Association for Quran Memorization in the Republic of Tanzania, with the participation of 25 contestants from 25 countries around the world. The competition took place at the national stadium in the capital, Dar es Salaam.
The closing ceremony of the competition was attended by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa, and officials from the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance. The ceremony also saw the presence of Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Tanzania, Yahya bin Abdulrahman Akish, along with several ambassadors from Gulf, Arab, and Islamic countries.
During the event, Dr. Awad Bin Sabti Al-Anzi, on behalf of the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, delivered a speech emphasizing the Kingdom’s commitment to serving the Quran and its people. He highlighted the support and care extended by the wise leadership towards Islam, Muslims, and the Quran as top priorities and concerns.
The final qualifiers of the 33rd edition of the Tanzania International Quran Competition began today, with 25 contestants from 25 countries across the globe participating. The judging panel evaluated the recitations of the contestants to select the top 10 winners based on their remarkable performance, precise memorization, and excellence in Quranic recitation.
The Grand Mufti of the United Republic of Tanzania and the President of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Abu Bakr bin Azubair bin Ali, praised the Kingdom for its leading role in supporting and sponsoring such competitions. He commended the large number of contestants who successfully participated in the qualifiers, contributing to the competition’s goal of showcasing bright examples of the current generation’s Quran memorization skills.
Contestants in the final qualifiers of the competition expressed their appreciation for the Kingdom’s and its leadership’s dedication to the Quran and its memorization. They acknowledged the continuous efforts to uphold the noble mission of serving Islam and Muslims. This dedication has played a crucial role in encouraging youth to memorize the Quran, promoting Islamic values, spreading the teachings of the Quran, and serving the holy book and its message.
