Syrian National Dialogue Conference heralded as significant step towards fulfilling aspirations of the Syrian people
His Excellency, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Mr. Jassim Mohammed Al-Bedaiwi, welcomed the convening of the Syrian National Dialogue Conference, considering it a significant and valuable step towards helping the Syrian people achieve their aspirations for security, stability, and prosperity.
Al-Bedaiwi expressed his hope that the conference would contribute to outlining the broad lines of a comprehensive political solution that includes all spectrums of the Syrian people, based on the rule of law and equal citizenship, in order to preserve Syria’s unity and sovereignty.
He praised the final statement of the conference, which reflected the sincere desire of the participants to reach comprehensive political solutions, emphasizing the importance of continuing such dialogues to enhance Syrian national consensus.
He reiterated the positions of the Gulf Cooperation Council as stated in the communique issued at the 46th extraordinary meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which emphasized respect for Syria’s sovereignty and independence, support for a comprehensive political transition that meets the aspirations of the Syrian people, as well as the importance of national reconciliation as a cornerstone for rebuilding and stabilizing the state.
