Saudi Universities Top List of Top 100 Universities in the World

The National Academy of Inventors in the United States has published a list of the top 100 universities worldwide for the year 2024, with Saudi universities leading the global rankings. The organization focuses on the crucial role patents play in translating university research and innovations into products that enhance innovation in comprehensive and sustainable development. The list includes prestigious international universities, as well as government and non-government institutions.
Saudi universities have made significant progress in the global university rankings in terms of the number of patents worldwide. King Faisal University topped this year’s ranking with 631 patents, surpassing renowned global universities in this field. King Faisal University is one of the universities that effectively contribute to scientific research and innovation in all fields. Moreover, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals recorded 265 patents, securing the fifth position globally, while Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University ranked fifteenth globally with 141 patents. Additionally, King Saud University registered 56 patents, ranking sixty-fourth globally.
Dr. Bassam Al-Bassam, the Secretary-General of the Council of Universities Affairs, stated that Saudi universities have witnessed tremendous transformation in recent years, particularly in scientific research and innovation. Educational institutions in Saudi Arabia have become hubs for scientific research and innovation in various fields within the Vision 2030 framework that supports research and innovation. This progress is due to the unlimited support from the wise leadership and the guidance of the Minister of Education. Al-Bassam congratulated the Saudi universities that topped the list, praising their research efforts and looking forward to more achievements both locally and internationally in various fields.
