Defense Minister meets President of Iran following directive from leadership

By order of the leadership, Prince Khalid bin Salman, Minister of Defense, met with President Dr. Masoud Bazargan, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, at the Presidential Palace in the capital Tehran. During the meeting, Prince Khalid conveyed greetings from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince, to President Bazargan. They wished the government and people of Iran further progress and prosperity. President Bazargan sent his regards and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince.

The meeting included a review of Saudi-Iranian relations and ways to enhance them, as well as discussions on regional and international developments and the efforts being made towards them. In attendance were General Fayyad Al-Ruwaili, Chief of the General Staff, Dr. Khalid Al-Biari, Assistant Minister of Defense for Executive Affairs, Khalid Al-Harawi, Royal Court Advisor, Mohammed Al-Jaber, Saudi Ambassador to Yemen, Abdullah Al-Otaibi, Saudi Ambassador to Iran, and Hisham Al-Saif, Director General of the Minister of Defense’s office.

On the Iranian side, Defense Minister Brigadier Aziz Nasirzadeh, and Brigadier General Gholam Mahraabi, Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence and Security, were present, along with other senior officials.
