Minister of Islamic Affairs Inaugurates Final Qualifications for Local Competition for King Salman Award for Quran Memorization

The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, Dr. Abdulatif Al Al-Sheikh, inaugurated the final qualifiers for the local competition for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz’s Prize for Memorizing, Reciting, and Interpreting the Quran for Boys and Girls in its 26th edition. The competition is organized by the Ministry through the General Secretariat of the Quran Competition and is being held in Riyadh with 125 participants from all regions of the Kingdom.
In his opening speech, the Minister highlighted the efforts of the Ministry, supported by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince, to ensure the success of this prestigious competition bearing the name of the King and honoring the Quran’s people, who are the people of Allah. A prize of seven million riyals was allocated for the winners, along with an encouraging reward totaling six hundred and twenty-five thousand riyals for all participants who reached the final qualifiers.
He emphasized the unlimited support provided by the leadership to serve the Quran and motivate the youth to memorize, comprehend, and uphold its values and principles, promoting goodness and generosity in their hearts. The Minister praised the outstanding level of the participants who qualified for the final qualifiers from various regions and provinces of the Kingdom.
He noted that the competition witnesses fierce competition throughout the year in all cities and provinces of the Kingdom to reach this final stage. Over three thousand participants took part in the preliminary qualifiers supervised by the Ministry in different regions, with one hundred and twenty-five of them qualifying for the final qualifiers.
This competition is considered one of the most important Quranic competitions locally and internationally, with a total prize of 7,000,000 riyals. The winner of the first place for both male and female participants in the first category will receive 400,000 riyals.
