Border patrol foils attempts to smuggle large quantities of drugs

In line with the Ministry of Interior’s efforts to combat drug trafficking activities targeting the security and youth of the kingdom, the General Directorate of Border Guard successfully thwarted attempts to smuggle a large quantity of drugs. A total of 116,682 amphetamine tablets, 537,087 regulated medical tablets, 717 kilograms of cannabis, and 33 tons of khat were confiscated. The smugglers were apprehended in the regions of Tabuk, Jazan, Asir, and Najran, totaling 444 border security violators and 9 citizens.
The Ministry of Interior urges citizens and residents to report any information related to drug trafficking activities by contacting the emergency numbers 911 in Mecca, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and 999 in other regions of the kingdom. Reports can also be made to the General Directorate of Narcotics Control at 995 or via email at 995@gdnc.gov.sa, with all information treated with utmost confidentiality.
