Al-Jasser Inaugurates State-of-the-Art Inspection Center for Transited Shipments at Founder’s Airport in Jeddah

The Minister of Transport and Logistics, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, inaugurated the Comprehensive Center for Inspecting Transferred Shipments in King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah today, in the presence of the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej.

This center is strategically launched as part of a series of similar centers that have been opened in the past week at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. The launch of this center aims to enhance the Kingdom’s status as a global logistics hub by implementing quality projects to improve air cargo procedures according to the latest security concepts, integrating advanced technologies, and providing the latest security systems and devices in transshipment inspection centers.

The integrated air cargo inspection system relies on advanced technologies, including high-energy X-ray inspection devices for examining consolidated shipments, and smart systems to ensure the speed and accuracy of inspection operations, as well as automation of processes and intelligent analysis providing comprehensive monitoring, continuous improvement of handling operations, contributing to reducing waiting times, and enhancing operational efficiency.

The integrated centers for inspecting transferred shipments include a team of trained national staff from various security agencies who work around the clock from registering shipments, passing through multi-level radiation inspection, to making the final decision, ensuring the highest levels of security and flexibility for transiting shipments.

The authority continues its efforts to develop the air cargo sector by increasing capacity, improving the logistics work environment, and providing professional services to enhance operational efficiency and speed.
