Over 1300 Attempts to Smuggle Contraband Thwarted Across Kingdom’s Ports in One Week

The General Authority of Zakat, Tax, and Customs revealed that customs outlets (land, sea, and air) recorded 1343 cases of seizures of prohibited items within one week. This is part of the continuous efforts by the authority to enhance security measures and protect the community from various types of prohibited items. The seized items included 43 types of drugs such as hashish, cocaine, heroin, and others, in addition to 1014 banned substances. There were also 1994 types of tobacco and its derivatives, as well as 36 types of financial amounts confiscated.

The authority emphasized its commitment to strengthening customs control on the Kingdom’s imports and exports to ensure the security and protection of the community. This is achieved through continuous cooperation and coordination with all relevant partners. At the same time, the authority called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling to protect the community and the national economy. They can do so by contacting the authority through the dedicated security hotline number “1910,” or via email at “1910@zatca.gov.sa,” or the international number “009661910.” Through these channels, the authority receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Unified Customs Law, ensuring complete confidentiality and offering a financial reward to the informant if the information proves to be accurate.
