Rainfall in Riyadh Region Hits Record High in Saudi Arabia Over the Past 24 Hours

The Riyadh region experienced the highest amount of rainfall in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the Al-Aqqa monitoring station recording 40.0 mm of precipitation. Other areas that also saw rain include Al-Zulfi with 30.0 mm and Al-Bateen Al-Janoubi with 11.0 mm. In total, 10 regions across the country received varying amounts of rainfall over the past 24 hours.
According to a daily report from the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, a total of 83 hydrological and climatological monitoring stations reported rainfall in regions such as Riyadh, Mecca, Medina, Qassim, the Eastern Province, Asir, Tabuk, the Northern Borders, Al-Baha, and Al-Jawf from 9 am on Friday, March 7th to 9 am on Saturday, March 8th, 2025.
The report revealed that Mecca recorded 3.2 mm of rainfall in Al-Urdiyat, while Medina saw 7.6 mm at the Badr monitoring station. Qassim reported 9.4 mm in Onaizah and 7.8 mm in Um Hazzam Al-Shamasiyah. The Eastern Province recorded 15.6 mm at the Al-Qitar station in Al-Olaya and 11.0 mm in Al-Sa’irah in Hafar Al-Batin.
Asir saw 2.6 mm in Thuluth Al-Mandhar in Bariq and 0.8 mm in Al-Far’ah Al-Shamaliyah in Namas. Tabuk recorded 2.0 mm at the Asilah border guard monitoring station and 1.8 mm in Tayma. The Northern Borders experienced 15.8 mm at Arar Airport and 15.0 mm at the Tarif border guard center.
In Al-Baha, the Barahr monitoring station in Al-Mandaq recorded 7.0 mm of rainfall, while the city of Al-Baha received 6.8 mm. Skaka’s Al-Mirir station in Al-Jawf reported 1.5 mm, and Duwmat Al-Jandal’s Shuqaiq station recorded 1.0 mm. Other areas experienced scattered lower rainfall amounts.
