Deadline for property registration in 23 neighborhoods in Mecca expires next Thursday

The General Authority for Real Estate has announced that the deadline for the initial registration of properties in 23 neighborhoods in the Mecca region is approaching. The deadline is set for the end of next Thursday, which falls on March 13, 2025. The authority is urging property owners within the specified neighborhoods to register their properties quickly through the real estate registry platform www.rer.sa. This registration must be completed before the deadline to take advantage of real estate transaction services and to document any changes that occur to the property.
The registration process will provide each unit with a unique “property number” and a property registration deed. This deed will include the precise geographical location of the property, the owner’s information, descriptions, status, rights, and obligations, as well as any property transactions that may occur. The deed will serve as a foundation for documenting ownership and related property rights, contributing to the sustainability and enhancement of the real estate sector and its main potentials.
Failure to register properties within the specified period in the announcement will subject the owners to financial penalties specified in the real estate registration system. These penalties are determined by a committee responsible for reviewing violations. It is important to note that requests for property registration will continue in all announced areas even after the deadline set in the announcement.
