Head of FDA Holds Meeting with Japanese Food Safety Counterpart to Discuss Collaborative Cooperation

The CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, Dr. Hisham bin Saad Al-Jadai, held a bilateral meeting today in Tokyo with the Chairman of the Food Safety Authority in Japan, Dr. Shigekiya Mamuto. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Ghazi bin Faisal bin Zakar, the Saudi Ambassador to Japan, and several officials from both sides.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on enhancing cooperation between the two entities and reviewed the operational mechanisms of the Food Safety Authority in Japan. They also discussed the major challenges facing the global food sector and best practices in food risk assessment.

Additionally, the meeting addressed ways to strengthen research and scientific collaboration between the two parties to enhance regulatory systems development and improve food safety.
