Border Patrol Forces in Jazan and Asir Regions Thwart Smuggling of Various Narcotics

Border patrols in the Jazan region, in Saudi Arabia, recently arrested three individuals for smuggling 90 kilograms of khat. The suspects, of Yemeni and Ethiopian nationality, are now facing legal actions and the confiscated substances have been handed over to the appropriate authorities.

Additionally, the border patrols in Jazan foiled an attempt to smuggle 59,210 medical tablets under strict regulatory control. The necessary legal procedures were carried out, and the seized items were submitted to the relevant authorities.

In the Aseer region, patrols in the Ruba’ area apprehended five Ethiopian nationals for attempting to smuggle 100 kilograms of khat. Like the previous case, legal actions were taken against the suspects, and the confiscated items were turned over to the authorities.

Authorities urge citizens and residents to report any information related to drug trafficking activities by contacting 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 in the rest of the Kingdom. Reports can also be submitted to the General Directorate for Narcotics Control at 995 or through email at 995@gdnc.gov.sa. All reports will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
