Cabinet Discusses Recent Developments in Arab, Regional, and International Arenas Under Leadership of Crown Prince

In Jeddah today, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Prime Minister, chaired a meeting of the Council of Ministers. During the session, the Crown Prince was briefed on phone calls with the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni.

The council discussed current events on the Arab, regional, and international stages, reaffirming the Kingdom’s steadfast positions and support for efforts aimed at achieving security and stability globally. They condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ aggression in Gaza, emphasizing the importance of international intervention to stop these crimes and end the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people.

The Council welcomed the completion of negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, leading to a peace agreement, as well as the border delineation agreement between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. They expressed hope for the progress and prosperity of these nations and their people.

On a local level, the Council highlighted the launch of the Saudi architectural map, showcasing nineteen different architectural styles that reflect the geographical, natural, and cultural features of the Kingdom. This initiative aims to celebrate the urban heritage, enhance quality of life, and improve urban landscapes in cities.

The Council also reviewed measures to support development projects and services, enhance the social care and protection system, and push forward with plans and strategies to meet the nation’s aspirations and ambitions. They discussed the performance indicators of the national economy, noting advancements in credit ratings and ongoing structural reforms in line with the Vision 2030 goals.

Furthermore, the Council appreciated the proactive security monitoring of drug trafficking networks and applauded the Saudi Ministry of Interior for thwarting an attempt to smuggle seven million amphetamine pills, based on information provided by the Ministry.

The Council approved several agreements and memoranda of understanding in various fields such as culture, economics, taxation, customs, aviation services, statistics, education, and vocational training with countries like Egypt, Japan, the Comoros, Qatar, Iceland, Pakistan, Suriname, Lithuania, Mauritania, and Malaysia. They also reorganized certain committees and ratified financial accounts for various Saudi institutions.

Overall, the Council addressed a wide range of issues on its agenda, taking necessary actions on reports from entities like the General Authority for Military Industries, the Saudi Industrial Development Fund, and universities in Jazan and Najran. The decisions made during the meeting aimed at promoting collaboration, progress, and efficiency in different sectors, both locally and internationally.
