Thunderstorms expected to hit parts of the Kingdom.

Today, the National Center of Meteorology forecasted that there is a chance of moderate to heavy thundery rain leading to flash floods accompanied by hail showers and strong winds in parts of Al-Madinah, Makkah, Al-Baha, Asir, Jazan, Najran, Qassim, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province. Meanwhile, windy conditions stirring up dust will continue in Tabuk, Al-Jouf, Hail, and the Northern Borders region.

The report mentioned that the surface wind movement over the Red Sea is northwesterly to northerly at a speed of 20-60 km/h in the northern part, reaching more than 60 km/h with the formation of rain clouds in the central part, and southeasterly to southerly at a speed of 15-42 km/h in the southern part, reaching more than 45 km/h towards the Bab al-Mandab Strait. Wave heights will range from 1.5 to 2.5 meters in the northern part and up to 3 meters in the central part, while in the southern part, it will range from 0.5 to 1.5 meters, reaching over 1.5 meters towards the Bab al-Mandab Strait. The sea state will be moderate to rough in the northern and central parts, and light to moderate in the southern part.

On the Arabian Gulf, the surface wind will be easterly to southeasterly at a speed of 12-45 km/h, reaching more than 55 km/h with the formation of rain clouds in the northern part. Wave heights will range from 0.5 to 1.5 meters, reaching over 2 meters with rain clouds in the northern part, while the sea state will be light to moderate with rough patches in the presence of rain clouds in the northern part.
