1394 attempts to smuggle contraband foiled at various customs outlets in a week

The Saudi Customs Authority has revealed that 1394 cases of banned items have been seized at customs checkpoints across the Kingdom. This is part of their ongoing efforts to enhance security and protect the community from various types of contraband. The confiscated items included 87 types of drugs such as hashish, cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine, as well as 1331 prohibited substances, 1751 types of tobacco and its derivatives, and 47 types of financial amounts.

The authority emphasized its commitment to tightening customs control on the Kingdom’s imports and exports to ensure community security and protection through continuous cooperation and coordination with all relevant partners. They called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling to protect the community and the national economy by contacting them through the designated security hotline “1910”, the email address “1910@zatca.gov.sa”, or the international number “009661910”. The authority receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Unified Customs Law through these channels, ensuring complete confidentiality and providing a financial reward to the informant if the information in the report is accurate.
