Iraqi Pilgrim in his Fifties Saved by Emergency Open-Heart Surgery

A specialized medical team at King Abdullah Medical City, a member of Mecca Health Association, successfully saved the life of a 59-year-old Iraqi pilgrim who suffered a severe heart attack that almost cost him his life.
The Health Association of Mecca revealed that the medical city urgently received the case, and a diagnostic catheterization showed severe narrowing in the coronary arteries, necessitating immediate surgical intervention. An emergency open-heart surgery lasting three hours was performed, and it was successful by the grace of God.
After the operation, the patient was transferred to the intensive care unit, was removed from the ventilator on the same day, and began a gradual recovery until his condition stabilized and he started to heal under advanced medical care and integrated health services provided by the medical city for the pilgrims.
This case exemplifies the ongoing efforts made by the medical staff at King Abdullah Medical City to provide high-quality specialized care within a comprehensive system of service for pilgrims and guests of the Holy Kaaba.
