Over 3 Million Pilgrims Flock to the Grand Mosque on the 22nd of Ramadan

Yesterday, the Grand Mosque in Mecca witnessed a large number of worshipers and pilgrims who flocked to it to spend the remaining last ten days of the month of Ramadan in search of Laylat al-Qadr. According to the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, the total number of visitors to the ancient house yesterday reached 3,101,140. The number of worshipers at Fajr prayer was 592,103, Dhuhr prayer had 518,090 attendees, Asr prayer had 547,695 attendees, Maghrib prayer had 710,524 attendees, and Isha and Taraweeh prayers had 732,728 attendees. The Presidency also noted that the total number of beneficiaries of wheelchairs reached 40,540, and the number of pilgrims from the main gates were as follows: King Abdulaziz Gate (Gate 1) had 235,810 pilgrims, Salaam Gate (Gate 17) had 32,369 pilgrims, Hadiyah Gate (Gate 33) had 69,596 pilgrims, Umrah Gate (Gate 40) had 111,421 pilgrims, and King Fahd Gate (Gate 79) had 172,771 pilgrims, bringing the total number of pilgrims from the main gates to 662,507 pilgrims. It is worth mentioning that the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque utilizes advanced technology, based on reader sensors, to monitor the number of worshipers and pilgrims from the visitors of the ancient house at the main entrances of the Grand Mosque. This aims to enhance operational efficiency by monitoring flows and crowds and improving their management effectively in partnership with relevant authorities.
