According to the General Authority of Civil Aviation report for the first quarter of 2025, issued by the committee responsible for reviewing violations of civil aviation regulations, a total of 147 violations were issued. These violations included imposing financial fines exceeding 3.8 million riyals on entities and individuals who violated civil aviation regulations, executive regulations, and instructions issued by the authority. The report revealed that two violations were issued against two airlines for not complying with the pre-registration passenger system and not adhering to competition instructions, with fines totaling 15,000 riyals. Additionally, 63 violations were issued against airlines for not verifying passengers’ necessary documents and not adhering to approved time slots, with fines exceeding one million riyals.
The report also highlighted the committee issuing 61 violations against airlines for not complying with the passenger rights protection regulations, with total fines reaching 2.7 million riyals. Furthermore, 21 violations were issued against individual passengers for not following aviation safety instructions and engaging in prohibited behavior on board, with fines amounting to 12,400 riyals. These actions fall within the authority’s commitment to transparency, clarity, and its continuous regulatory and supervisory role in the aviation sector. The aim is to enhance passengers’ experience and improve the quality of air transportation services in the Kingdom.
