Authorities catch 5 environmental offenders for cutting fences and trespassing in reserve without permission

Special forces of the Environmental Security apprehended four citizens and an expatriate violator for breaking environmental regulations. They were caught cutting fences and entering the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve without permission. The culprits were subjected to legal procedures and referred to the proper authorities. The forces explained that the penalty for cutting or damaging protected area fences can reach up to 100,000 riyals. Offenders are also required to repair the damage and pay compensation. Additionally, the penalty for unauthorized entry into reserves is a fine of 5,000 riyals. The public was urged to report any cases of environmental or wildlife harm by calling 911 in Mecca, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 and 996 in other regions of the Kingdom.
