Supreme Court calls for visual confirmation of Shawwal crescent sight on upcoming Saturday evening

The Supreme Court has called on Muslims across the Kingdom to look out for the Shawwal moon on the evening of Saturday, the 29th of Ramadan for the year 1446 according to the Umm Al-Qura calendar, corresponding to March 29, 2025.
In an announcement, the Court stated that based on Decision No. 192/ H and dated August 29, 1446, which determined that Saturday, 1st of Shawwal for the year 1446 according to the Umm Al-Qura calendar, corresponding to March 1, 2025, marks the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan for that year. Therefore, the Supreme Court wishes for all Muslims across the Kingdom to look for the sighting of the Shawwal moon on the evening of Saturday, the 29th of Shawwal for the year 1446 according to the Umm Al-Qura calendar, corresponding to March 29, 2025.
The Supreme Court urges anyone who sees the moon with the naked eye or through telescopes to inform the nearest court, record their testimony there, or contact the closest center for assistance in reaching the nearest court.
The Supreme Court hopes that those capable of moon sighting will pay attention to this matter and join the committees formed in the regions for this purpose, taking into account the reward and blessings of participation. This is in the spirit of cooperation, piety, and benefit to all Muslims.
