More than 1.5 million worshippers gathered at the Grand Mosque in Mecca to pray the night prayer and Taraweeh prayers on the 29th night of Ramadan. The atmosphere was filled with spirituality, tranquility, and peace. Pilgrims and worshippers flocked to the Grand Mosque from early morning, thanks to the Kingdom’s services and projects under the wise leadership.

The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques mobilized all its resources and capabilities to receive pilgrims, guide them to designated areas, and ensure ease of access for the elderly and individuals with disabilities. Signboards were placed for guidance, and operational services were enhanced with specialized equipment for cleanliness, sterilization, and refreshing, along with the provision of multiple language Qurans.

Efforts were intensified in cleaning, ensuring the functionality of sound systems, ventilation, and air conditioning, as well as providing various types of carts and coordinating their operation. The authorities also increased supervision to guide worshippers and manage the flow of people, especially during peak times. The operational plans for cleanliness and purification of the Grand Mosque were rigorously implemented.

The Presidency increased its staff to direct worshippers to their designated areas, ensuring comfort and safety. Supervisors monitored over 3500 workers responsible for cleaning the Mosque five times a day, while also organizing the pathways and managing the flow of people via escalators. Safety measures, firefighting systems, and pedestrian safety were prioritized, with emergency plans in place for rainy weather conditions.

Furthermore, the Presidency installed 428 escalators, 28 elevators, and modern sound systems along with 1,300 electric speakers. Maintenance works were carried out extensively. Environmental protection measures were applied to guarantee the well-being of visitors, backed by advanced systems for monitoring weather conditions in real-time.

Collaborating with relevant bodies, plans were devised for crowd control, guidance, and setting clear pathways in the holy sites. The initiative “Walking Guides” provided trained guidance teams to assist pilgrims in various languages. A dedicated human resource was deployed to execute the plan with the utmost operational efficiency and integration with relevant entities, ensuring top-quality services for pilgrims.

The focus remained on providing the best services to guests of the Merciful, upholding the highest standards of quality in managing and operating the facilities. The Presidency’s commitment to excellence was evident in its efficient execution of the comprehensive operational plan, showcasing its dedication to serving the worshippers and pilgrims in Mecca.
