Operational plan for the Telecommunications and Space Technology Authority succeeds during the blessed month of Ramadan

The Saudi Communications and Information Technology Commission has announced the successful implementation of its operational plan for the Umrah season during the month of Ramadan in the year 1446 AH. The Commission revealed the performance indicators of the communication networks in Makkah and Madinah from the 1st to the 27th of Ramadan, stating that the mobile internet speed in Makkah reached 196 megabits per second, an increase of 10% compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, the speed exceeded 272 megabits per second in Madinah, representing a 26% increase from the previous year. The average daily data consumption per individual in Makkah was 1155 megabytes, surpassing three times the global average consumption per individual. In Madinah, the average consumption per individual was 1481 megabytes, which is four times the global average consumption per individual. The indicators also showed that the number of local voice calls in Makkah exceeded 355 million, along with 43 million international voice calls. In Madinah, local voice calls reached 205 million, while international voice calls were 20 million.
