The Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources and Chairman of the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Kharif, extended his congratulations to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, wishing for blessings and prosperity upon the leadership, the nation, and the Islamic world. He praised the government sectors for their efforts in serving the holy sites, especially during Ramadan, which facilitated the pilgrimage for visitors, reflecting the Kingdom’s keenness to serve Islam and Muslims.
Al-Kharif expressed his gratitude to the leadership for their support of the industry and mining sector, noting the significant growth and achievements in the past year. He highlighted the issuance of 1346 new industrial licenses with investments exceeding 50 billion riyals, the establishment of 1075 production factories with investments of over 48 billion riyals, and the creation of 44,000 new jobs in the sector. These numbers demonstrate the high interest and investment in the industrial sector, supported by leadership and flexible regulations that encourage new projects.
The mining sector also experienced growth, with the value of mineral resources reaching 9.375 trillion Saudi riyals. A total of 2401 mining licenses are in effect, including 740 new licenses issued in 2024. The first round of mining competitions for the Hunt Mountain and Shuwas Valley mineral belts attracted 35 new local and international companies, showcasing the sector’s attractiveness and significant developments.
Al-Kharif emphasized the commitment to modernizing and developing the industry and mining sector in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the National Industrial Strategy. The efforts of the government aim to achieve the aspirations of the leadership and propel the sector towards further growth and success.
